Safety & Standards

NATA is the national association of aviation business service providers. Mayo Aviation has played an active role as a member of the NATA since 1988. Our Chairman and Founder, Gwen Mayo, served as the first female chairman of the NATA and has received the prestigious William A. Ong award from the organization.

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has served the business aviation community since 1947 and is dedicated to enhancing the safety, security, efficiency and acceptance of business aviation. Mayo has consistently received NBAA's Commercial Flying Safety Award. We are currently recognized for 22 years and 123,260 hours of consecutive accident-free flying.

NATA's Safety 1st program is a widely recognized flight and line-service training and testing program currently employed by more than 550 FBOs throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The program teaches personnel proper and safe procedures for ground servicing, fire-safety training, towing and handling of aircraft.

As a partner in the Wyvern Wingman Alliance, Mayo Aviation can provide you with the peace of mind of a Wyvern Double-Checked™ flight. To earn the Double-Checked rating, individual crewmembers and aircraft must meet Wyvern's enhanced safety standards, which are significantly more stringent than even the FAA requires.

Mayo has attained a Gold Rating from ARG/US. The Gold designation is assigned to operators who meet or exceed the established ARG/US standards for equipment and flight crew experience. The emphasis is not only on the age of aircraft, but also on modern avionics, progressive maintenance, and safety devices.
