Mayo Aviation Acquires CharterOps, Inc to Expand Private Charter Operations

DENVER -- Mayo Aviation, Inc. today announced that it has acquired Portland, ME - based CharterOps, Inc. The all-cash transaction will increase the size of the Mayo Aviation fleet to 18 aircraft and improve Mayo’s ability to both serve the Rocky Mountain west and the northeastern United States.

"The CharterOps acquisition supports Mayo’s strategy to enhance our regional offerings throughout the Rocky Mountain region and extend our capabilities and services to a wider audience located east of the Mississippi River."

Mayo Aviation also recently opened Aspen CharterOps at the Aspen Pitkin County Airport to service the Rocky Mountain resort areas.  Aspen CharterOps is the only based charter operator in Aspen and has FAA approval for same approach and departure minimums as the Part 121 airlines arriving and departing in Aspen.  “All of us at both Mayo and Aspen CharterOps feel that this level of training and weather capability provides our clients with a tremendous advantage help keep to their busy schedules,” stated Kerri Brooks, Aspen resident and sales manager for the Aspen office.

Mayo Aviation will incorporate the existing CharterOps aircraft fleet which is comprised of a Burlington, VT based Lear 60, a Fairfield, NJ based Pilatus PC-12 NG, in addition to a Grand Junction, CO based Hawker 700, Hawker 800XP and a Conquest II. Mayo currently operates turboprop, light, midsize, super-midsize, and large cabin class aircraft from its Denver and Aspen Colorado bases.
